Gossip Girl by Cecily Von Ziegesar
Genre: YA-ish
Part of a Series? yes
Rating: 6/10
This book was somewhat of a disappointment. I think I probably would have liked it more if I wasn't in love with the show. A lot of the characters were way different in the book (most especially, Rufus, Jenny and Chuck) and I can't say that I was a fan of the change. Still, the format of the book was fun, and it was written decently. The book itself was an okay read, but I think I'm going to just stick with the show from now on.
Scorpia by Anthony Horowitz
Genre: YA Adventure
Part of a Series? Alex Rider, book 5
Rating: 8/10
Possibly the best Alex Rider book to date. Ironically, MI-6 still didn't play a huge role, but I think the book was better for it. There was some really excellent backstory, cool gadgets, and an incredibly shocking ending that has me greatly anticipating the next one. The absence of Gregorivitch was sad, but I can't exactly fault the book for that.
Sebastian by Anne Bishop
Genre: Supernatural Fantasy
Part of a Series? Ephemera, book 1
Rating: 7.5/10
Obviously this was an excellent book - can't go wrong with Anne Bishop. It wasn't as good as a Daughter of the Blood, but it would be pretty hard to top that. Still, the world created was very cool, and the fact that the main character was an incubus was pretty much the best thing ever. I'm not really sure where the series can go from here, but I'm looking forward to finding out.
