World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War
Genre: mock non-fiction
Part of a Series? no
Rating: 8/10
While this wasn't a novel as I was expecting it to be, it was still a great book. Survivors retell an entire war - from the first zombies, to how they were finally beaten by humans. It was great to see how nations, rather than just individual people, managed to survive and re-build all of their infrastructure. My favourite part definitely had to be the quislings - regular humans who just started acting like zombies. Also, it was cool to see how some of the stories interwove and informed you about things that other accounts left out.
Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale by Holly Black
Genre: YA Urban Fantasy

Rating: 9/10
This book was amazing. Very much like City of Bones (although not quite as good). Full of fae and magic and war. It was very neat, and I found the faerie world extremely reminiscent of The Dresden Files. The only disappointment I had was that it was a stand-alone book so I won't get to read more about all of the amazing characters.
