[°C] [Blog] Last Single Release (Maimi)

Mar 30, 2017 00:28

I translated Maimi's blog post from March 29th, 2017 about °C-ute's final single release!

She talks about the feelings behind each song, as well as her thoughts about the upcoming final concert at Saitama Super Arena.

Sorry I haven’t been updating that much recently. (;´Д`A

Today, °C-ute’s last single “To Tomorrow/Final Squall/The Curtain Rises” has released at last!!

These three songs are filled with all kinds of feelings.

First is “To Tomorrow.”
Up until now, Tsunku has made many songs for Hello! Project.
That Tsunku said, “In order to write this last single, tell me all of the honest feelings you are holding onto right now!” and we had many conversations about this. It’s the first time we’ve done something like this in these 15 years.
Regardless of all of these exchanges, of course the biggest feeling was “Thank you!”, an emotion all of the members [of °C-ute] seemed to share. ( ;∀;)
Therefore, this song was packed with these feelings of gratitude.

I wonder what it will be like if we sing this song at our last concert at Saitama Super Arena?

Tsunku wrote this song with our last stage in mind, and lately at events I get emotional while singing it, but the feeling of, “Facing tomorrow, we’re off!!” is something that I think we’ll feel for the first time on June 12th, when we stand on the stage that we’ve been dreaming about.

For our last performance, we’ll put the honest emotions we’re feeling [at that time] into that song.

For our last single, we also received another song from Tsunku!! “The Curtain Rises.”

This is the case for “To Tomorrow” as well, but [for “The Curtain Rises”], Tsunku expressed our determination in a powerful and bright way.
When we decided on our disbandment, we did so with those exact feelings.
Whether we cry or laugh, the five of our hearts will burn brightly as we sing.
This song was written with the idea of it being the first song for our final concert, but phrases like “Don’t miss a single moment”, “I wish time could stand still today, more so than I have any other day”; surely, we’ll feel like that [at our last concert]… (T ^ T)

For both songs, if you read the lyrics line by line, your heart starts to hurt. 。゚(゚´ω`゚)゚。
Facing the end, among other songs with refreshing and energetic atmospheres, we received a cool dance number that screams “This is °C-ute!”

The intensity that we’ve been developing up until now can be summed up in this song!

Also, SHOCK EYE from Shounan no Kaze, created “Final Squall” for us.

This song, rather than being written from our perspective, is written from the point of view of everyone who has been supporting °C-ute. I can really feel the affection coming from SHOCK EYE in this song that he wrote for us.

The lyrics to this song are something that we, [the members of °C-ute], really empathize with and it makes us feel like crying.
When we think, “Does Team °C-ute thinks of in this way?” that becomes too much and we really do end up crying. (><)

The manager we had when °C-ute was formed said, “From now on, all of you will grow into strong, sturdy trees!” When we received this song, [we recalled those words], and realized we had successfully grown into those trees. 。゚(゚´ω`゚)゚。
We were filled up with the feelings of having kept our promise to our manager. (T ^ T)

We grew from all of the affection we received from Team °C-ute.

You’ll get to see us in full bloom at Saitama Super Arena!

I also wrote about our new songs on Hello! Mobile, so I’d be happy if you read about them there too.

In conclusion, please support us in our last single!!
