Tour de Liar
Heres the thing about Rasmussen getting kicked off his team and having to abandon the Tour De France this year, after being the overall race leader for a majority of the race. They have never actually found any positive doping results from him. He was expelled from his team for lying about his whereabouts during training in the months leading up to the tour.
The real kicker is, "Rasmussen left his team hotel in Pau late Wednesday for Italy, race officials said, adding that the French police had arrived at the hotel just too late to arrest him."
What are French police trying to arrest him for? He wasn't caught doping, he was caught lying. I don't think we are getting the whole story, and given the state of pro cycling and the reach that doping has invaded it, I don't think we ever will. I will say that I am sure that Tour organizers were not happy about how Rasmussen treated the TV camera motorcycle in yesterdays stage. He could be seen waving it off and shouting at it all through the second and final climb.
