Hearth Holds Hope

I just have to post my presentation for the class, and I'm DONE for the semester! Three weeks off!! I'd dance for joy, but my coordination is notoriously nonfunctioning until around 10am, so I'll give it a miss.

How these do-nothings keep getting elected isn't the mystery - usually they are the only ones who are willing to run for office.

Why ADF doesn't have a limit on officerships being held by the same person I don't know.

You've pretty much answered your own rhetorical query there...

As drubear's response to malacat13's comment rightly implies, the issue is being able to remove people who are collecting offices and are either unable or incompetent to handle them.

We went through that in the Liturgists Guild back in 2004 with a Preceptor who--by her own admission--had virtually never written a single liturgical script in her life. But she was the only candidate for the office. She refused to honor deadlines on the Guild SP development. Then she stonewalled on sharing her work for review and comment by the other LG officers. Etc., etc. Ultimately she got forced out, but only by my adding the Preceptor role to the Guild Chief office I already had. By doing that, we actually got the LG's 1st Circle up and running in less than a year. The trick wasn't worrying about how many offices I had: It was recognizing that the unqualified person who only had the Preceptor job so she could help pack the COL on behalf of a particular faction had to be rooted out and a more responsible and qualified person (in this case, myself) installed in her place.

I've said it before...I'll say it again: Bleah!
