Happy Independence Day! No matter how much certain aspects of my country may exasperate or scare me at times, I am and always will be proud and happy to be American.

The people in my life are among the greatest gifts I've ever been privileged to know. I want you all to know that. You are my family as much as anyone related to me.

I hope everyone on my friends-list has a wonderful day, full of things to be thankful for. It's a many-splendored world we live in, and I hope everyone has a chance to bask in the wonderful things in it.
