Never ask why.

Why is it people get all freaky around weddings? I don't fully understand it, myself. But, this is my wedding. Of course this is our weddings, and I understand that, I'm not bridezillaing here. My mom, on the other hand. Holy shit.

She is inviting people I don't know. She telling me about obligations, what's expected of me because I'm planning a wedding. All these expectations, inviting people I don't know, other people that should be invited, what I should feed them, what I should pay for. And that's it, in the end, she has all these obligations. But, traditionally speaking, the brides family TRADITIONALLY pays for the wedding, and since we are doing this NONtraditionally and my mom refused to pay for it I think she's given up those traditional rights. I'm sorry if my ideas are "red-neck", or "pretentious", or any other of the number of thinly veiled put downs that she's chosen to say.

I've heard of children of a couple that are about to get married acting out. But what's the story here? She seems to be acting out in some way, but I haven't actually done anything wrong.

And I'm sorry, but it is our wedding. Mine. And James. So, what we decide to do is going to happen. Because it's OUR day. So please. Just understand this.
