i don't usually post about religion. i am a firm believer that no religion is wrong - everyone is entitled to believe what they want. i won't push my beliefs on you, you don't push yours on mine, and we're cool. that doesn't mean we can't discuss differences in religion - i'm totally fine with that.
one day last week i was randomly flipping through channels and ended up watching a few episodes of Split Ends on the Style network. one of the episodes was "Split Ends: Christian Rea & Candace Mullins. A single mom with strong religious roots swaps salons with a cross-dressing man who is most confident when he's in drag as Miss Crystal."
yea, so you can guess how that went.
the owners of the christian salon were over the top. which, again, is fine so long as they aren't forcing others to believe. but every few hours, they wanted to pray, and they wanted HIM to be involved. the wife was SO upset when he came in as crystal. (yet, the minister's wife was completely fine with it.) the wife went so far as to call the other hair stylists at home that night and tell them they were not allowed to talk to christian the next day, if they "valued their jobs".
to me, christianity is not about making judgements about other people's lifestyles. leave that to God. he was being flamboyant, but he wasn't he wasn't forcing himself on anyone -- can't say the same for them.
if you really want to convert someone to christianity, be a good christian.
