I'm still alive and kicking--although not kicking very hard lately, since I'm so often barefoot. Can you believe the lightspeed with which the month of May melted away and ran down the water works system to the river/ocean? Un-believable!

This area is in the middle of a gen-U-EYE-nnn Cold Snap. The Thermometer Outside My Kitchen Window informs me that the current temp is minus 4 F (minus 20 C). As I recall Vinnie’s back story, he was owned by a young woman in Minot, ND. This young woman eventually got a man. The man was jealous and cruel to Vinnie so Vinnie was removed from this home. He was adopted by a couple with another dog and lived very happily in ND until they lost their home to flooding ( Read more... )

Snow came down and piled up another 6 inches or so. MyPoorJeff shoveled much of it away, although a kind neighbor and his snowblower helped with the driveway. Temps went down and will edge back up to near freezing early next week.

MyMadJeff continues to look out the window, chortle, and say "Isn't it pretty?".

Sigh. I do love him. He needs me.

The turkey is in the oven and the giblets are cooking on the stove top. Of course, I rarely DO anything with much of the giblets--maybe cut up the liver and heart and sprinkle the bits on The Boys' meal a couple/few times--but little else.
