Hi There, Dear LJ Friends!

Jun 06, 2021 15:08

I'm still alive and kicking--although not kicking very hard lately, since I'm so often barefoot. Can you believe the lightspeed with which the month of May melted away and ran down the water works system to the river/ocean? Un-believable!

Today is MyJeff's birthday. We've been spending the weekend together:

Sitting in the shade. Yes. It is DAMNED hot and humid out there, but shade and breezes help a lot. And lots of cool beverages. (MyJeff purchased himself a couple of new "special" beverages for his Birthday Weekend. Also a Very Nice olive-green kilt. Mmmmmm... That one is Not entirely for HIM!)

Watching some of our streaming "We gotta get around to watching that sometime" choices.

Polishing off the poppyseed bundt cake I baked last weekend.

Watering the yard and adoring the open peony blooms. They just opened Friday or Saturday morning! (I took some photos but haven't uploaded and cropped any yet.)
I had to stop photographing when my camera messaged me that it had run out of available memory. Guess I haven't offloaded photos in quite a while. Oops!

Listening to and watching the birds in our back yard. Marveling and enjoying... You should HEAR the Big Song of the teeny-tiny wrens.

Yesterday afternoon, we suddenly saw a large yellow and black Swallowtail butterfly flit past MyJeff's head, shortly followed by a dark/black butterfly or large moth headed in the opposite direction; followed by another butterfly moving in vaguely the same direction; followed by an orange butterfly (MONARCH!!?!!) way at the back of the yard. That was a cool few minutes, especially since our butterfly population has been notably minimal over the last couple of years.

Eating what we feel like eating, when we get hungry--even if that means eating separately and differently.

Again, watching fun-and-otherwise-nonRedeeming streaming shows without the slightest embarassment or shame. So THERE!

And, I have a gift for each of you. It comes from the Greater Good websites and is Gorgeous!! I highly recommend it:

I hope you have a marvelous week. Don't let work, heat & humidity, finances, the idiots on the other side of the fence, or any other irritant you may encounter get you down. Take a good deep drink of the refreshment of your choice, lift your heels onto a footstool, and lean back with a relaxed and contented sigh. Enjoy the day/evening/Life you have been gifted. You are a fortunate individual and readily deserve happiness and ease. Allow them to come to you.

myjeff, birthday, nature, good wishes
