My Comments:Okay, I must admit I fretted over today's rec. Xie has given the fandom an epic post-513 series, an amazing surgeon/paramedic AU, many porny standalones, and just as many lovely meaningful oneshots, and I choose to rec...a ( Read more... )

I am *thrilled* to see you recommending a drabble. Xie's is wonderful and she's a wonderful writer, to be sure.

There are some amazing drabble writers in this fandom. I realize that as someone who writes very little *except* drabbles, I might be a bit biased, but it's such a challenging form of writing and I am amazed every week by the stories writers can tell in just a few sentences.

Oh, I adore drabbles (they're just right for my attention span, heh), and the really well-written ones just zing. It absolutely takes talent to write those. I actually recced what is probably my favorite QaF drabble earlier this month ( here, if you missed it). flashfly has written so many amazing fics, but that drabble may be my favorite of hers. (Although Drag is right up there. Thank goodness I don't actually have to choose!) I'm very grateful for the many excellent drabblers in this fandom.

Incidentally, the word "drabble" starts to look very odd after you type it a few times, LOL.

If you look in my memories, *EVERYTHING* flashfly has written is there. I almost feel reluctant to pick a favorite QaF writer when I have so many good ones on my FL, but something about the way Jude writes just *FITS* with the way I feel about Queer as Folk and she also pushes most of my kink buttons in her stories. My Favorite Damn Disease *kills* me...I will never get tired of that thing. And Drag...omg. No words for what that does to me.

So anyway...! Yes. Love that drabble, and the genre itself very much...

Hmm, I haven't reread My Favorite Damn Disease in a while. I will have to do that this evening.

I am a hopeless flashfly fangirl myself, so I know how you feel. :-)

I figure someday I'll have entire passages memorized.

If I wasn't afraid she'd send the internet police after me for obsessive stalking, I'd leave fawning comments every time I read her stuff. :D
