Quick book rec: The Master Butchers Singing Club by Louise Erdrich. I just finished this book and really enjoyed it. It takes place mostly in a small town in North Dakota during the years from the end of WWI through 1954. There's a sprawling cast of characters whose lives intertwine in various ways, and they all felt real and flawed and human. Gorgeous prose, as I've come to expect from Erdrich, and a luminous ending.
