There was no reason for Link to be in the library, all of the books in the library were written in that unreadable, Cucco-scratch of a language, and even if he could read it, Link was not the type to do research.

And yet, for some reason, there he was, in the library, wandering around the big, rather empty feeling, building. It was a library, there had to be something useful in here, though all he could find was a man, that he reconized from the network, pouring himself over piles of books.

"Found anything interesting?" He asked.

Huh. He hadn't noticed Link show up. Hell, he hadn't figured Link was the type to be in a library at all unless he had a puzzle to solve or something. Still, it was a good question.

"Kind of," he answered, looking up from the F volume of the encyclopedia open in front of him. "There's a lot of conflicting legends for a lot of these things, and until I know what version we're dealing with, it's tough to tell what will work best against them. Instead of not enough information, I have too much." That was a problem he never thought he'd have sans internet. Either way, he liked the idea of a study break.

"What about you? What are you up to?"

"Uh, maybe you should ask someone who's familiar with what we're dealing with," Link offered, "They might be able to help find what you're looking for?"

Link was sure there were people who were familiar with what this city had to offer, and he didn't mean the people who had brought them here. Link sat down in the seat across from Linkara, and looked in one of the books he wasn't reading.

"I thought I might find something that could help us in here, but books aren't really helpful when... you can't read them," He hesitated to admit that, because it wasn't like he couldn't read, he just couldn't read the language used here. And it made him feel a little helpless.

"I thought I could find something here before asking for information. Again." Thanks to Wikipedia, he was used to being the one with all the answers, not the one who had to ask for them. Role reversal sucked. "I think you're right, though."

He blinked a bit at Link's admission before it clicked. English was probably a pretty far cry from Hylian or whatever the language was in Hyrule. "Not the same language as where you're from, huh."

"No, it's nothing like this." He replied. It was actually very close to Japanese kana, not that Link knew that. And it was a testament to the boy's intelligence that he was capable of using the Eggplants without anyone's help.

But still, "I kinda wish I could read it though, I wouldn't feel so helpless," he replied, grabbing an open book and staring at the text.

"I wouldn't worry about it," Linkara replied, the usual sarcastic edge in his voice just a bit less sharp. It was bad enough being in this city for who knew what reason. Being unable to read the local language only had to suck more. "I can read it and it's not helping me much right now either."
