Injury Followup
After seeing the specialist yesterday, I came home with a nice, shiny new plastic boot. Fortunately, I don't need an actual cast; this one, I can take off for showers and stuff. I get to wear it for a month, and go back in for her to assess how my healing is going.
She expects that it will take 8-12 weeks to heal completely, but after 4 (if things are going well) I might be able to work, which would be nice.
I'm not in any pain except for occasional twinges, which only happen if I move my foot wrong. Mostly it's just really inconvenient. I'm able to move around the house and sit comfortably now.
All in all, it could be a lot worse. I'm dealing with it pretty well, I think. 34 years without a broken bone is a pretty long streak, so I can't complain really.
