Injury Update

I went back to the clinic for another X-ray today. Unfortunately, my hopes of getting out of the aircast and being able to work next week were dashed. I'm in the boot for another 2 weeks minimum, and while I may (at my own discretion) be able to walk in normal shoes in two, I'm not sure if I'll be able to work then because I can't see my doctor again until (likely) January. Driving is quite out of the question.

I feel a bit better about this, though, due to overhearing bits from the guy in the bed next to mine. He was in for a followup for a leg injury that happened at about the same time as mine. He was only just getting his normal cast off and replacing it with an aircast, and the doctor was reminding him that he can't take baths because immersing the month-old surgical wound would be bad. That gave me a little perspective.

Also on the plus side, I don't need the crutches anymore unless my foot gets fatigued, so I can hobble about in the boot for short periods and stand unassisted with no problem.
