Five things for Friday:
1) Taxes are done! *falls over*
2)
cofax7 always links the most fascinating articles.
Why Pants are Legal in Kansas: April 29th was the 100th anniversary of legalising women wearing pants in Kansas! Wow.
3)
fannish5: Name five songs that remind you of any five characters from fandom.
- John Sheppard: Running Up That Hill. I blame the vid by... I don't have her name handy, sorry! It was a very, very early vid, Season 1 only, and while I'm now reluctant to accept the John/Rodney slant, I can't help associating it with John. What I remember mostly vividly are scenes of John from "The Defiant One" with the lyrics, "running up that hill". It's stuck in my head ever since.
- Daniel Jackson: Another Train. I blame the vid by
barkley :) I used to play it over and over, because the lyrics were just perfect for Daniel, and so heartbreaking. Song on YouTube, performed by The Poozies. It's the best quality audio I could find, but the visual is crap. (FYI, Barkley's vids are on her site, but password protected.)
- Buffy Summers: Boulevard of Broken Songs. (I love this mash-up with a fierce and awesome love.) Darn, I wish I remembered the vidder. ETA: Vidder is shati and you can download it at her site! This wasn't a Buffy vid, per se--it featured all the Slayers and Potentials on Buffy and Angel. It was glorious.
- Duncan MacLeod: Princes of the Universe! No vid this time, though the credits of the show did a pretty good job themselves ;) I suppose, though, it's not Duncan himself I associate with the song, but the show.
- Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Way You Look Tonight. There are quite a few songs on DS9 that I associate strongly with the characters, like Nog with It's Only a Paper Moon. But yes, definitely The Way You Look Tonight for the DS9 ensemble. *sniff*
How about you guys? Cheat like me, if you have to!
4) THE LURKERS SUPPORT ME IN EMAIL PRIVATE MESSAGE. Ha! It's good to know I'm not alone :)
5) Meme! This is a variation of the Timestamp Meme, only I'm not going to do ficlets--just answers for what's going on at any time in the timeline before or after any fic. Actually, I might as well call it the "Fic Open Season" meme: any question about any fic I've written is game.
You can find my fanfic on
AO3 or via
my fic index.
