Bullet point catch-up

Nov 18, 2010 20:24

  • Am enjoying the holiday, even if I had to work yesterday (it was scheduled, so not like a bad surprise or anything).

  • On Sunday, my new niece was born! 50cm, over 3700 grams, ten fingers, ten toes, a very healthy baby. I visited her (and her parents) on Monday.

  • I'm making good progress on Reorientation!verse, the slash novel about the Greatest Love Story Never Told. I managed to add almost 12,000 words in the last week, and am now at 65K total. I'm right down to the end game, so another 5-10K should do it for the first draft. Expect another 10% increase in word count during the edits, though.

  • Finally watched Skeet's Chilly Dogs yesterday, which has to be one of the most absurd movies I ever managed to finish. Half the fun was imagining the SJ crowd going into RAEG, though.... I wish I'd had a bingo card, I think the movie managed to hit every 'ism Known to Man (I still laughed, bad me...).

  • Looks like the anti-islam party that got quite a few parliament seats during the last election is already starting to implode. This is good news.
