Glad of a day off

The shop is increasingly busy for christmas, even if its busy with me polishing the silver (like a victorian maid it would seem by how I structured that sentence) and making cups of tea that although are piping hot for me are never warm enough for other people. Stupid coworkers.

As luck would have it I got my day off on saturday, so it was a 2 hour drive into edinburgh for a wee ice skate! 2 hours through a small diversion, passing high rise flats with metal gates round them meaning they were only fit for shady dealings and to be demolished, and through streets that did not pass through morningside. Yes even that one with the church in the name. So a few left turns and a drive through a bus and taxi lanes of princes street we finally arrive...and after a quick jump to starbucks we were ready to take to the ice... after the massive 30 minute queue, and the small diversion to see the reindeers (and their asses). Where was I? Oh yes, we were ready to take to the ice!

Ice boots hurt, and ross is not as graceful on ice as he is on tarmac. Luckily there was an old lady there to give a bit of a pep talk to him, saying she once was in his very position and she learned to skate (although now shes too old so the pep talk was useless).

We decided to test the waters of the upper middle class by shopping in waitrose on the way back (£4 for a bag of potatoes?! Give me iceland any day) and may have been the only people to buy crisp and dry in that fine market of super's history. However, in our class warrior defence, delia smith's roast potatoes had to be made for a dinner party!

Tried duck, I thought it was chicken so didnt bother about the taste, had tasty cheesy mashed potatoes and a few too many gingerbread men. Yum. They had m and m buttons. Lovely stuff.

Ive been having a few odd dreams recently, but that I suppose is a different update. I dont know if I believe in the superstision behind dreams, everything means something. But if it means nothing, why dream anyway.

But yay, monday off! Score!
