IWPS 2008 Not In Columbus

Still on the road, but certainly worth mentioning since it's about my city:

Ed Mabrey, coordinator for IWPS 2008, is moving out of state.  PSI's Executive Council voted to relieve him of hosting responsibilities for IWPS 2008 in October in Columbus, Ohio.  We deemed it not in the interest of the event to have the primary organizer states away.

Oh, definitely, when life calls, answer.I guess I'm thinking more in terms of, not lock down from the local end or people who made the bid whose lives have changed as much as maybe setting up some outside contingency group or plan---which I know is fundamentally the EC.But not being on the EC, I don't know what those plans are or what the back-up crew/plans are.What am I saying...I'm not even sure.I guess it seems like, if plans and relationships are already underway on a project to a certain point (and maybe stuff in this case and the other were just not on the time-line they should have been on to do this)to be able to take it over from the outside if the main organizer has to bow out.I feel like I should know the time-line for these decisions and don't.(Bad slam ma'am, but maybe I just haven't had enough coffee yet).

Yeah,, I don't think we're there yet either.Plus, I like traveling to places I've never been to or probably wouldn't think to go to unless on a big tour.I mean, if ALA can pull it off in different regions every year ;)
