Summary:- A quiet moment with Jack and Ianto

A/N:- Written for tw100's challenge #263: Maybe this year. Everytime I thought about this prompt I heard the wonderful Kristen Chenoweth belting out the lyrics quoted during her first appearance in another of my favourite TV shows, Glee (though the drabble has nothing to do with Glee).

Jack hummed along as the radio played quietly, Ianto’s head resting on his chest.

Maybe this time, I'll be lucky,
Maybe this time he'll stay.

Jack smiled softly.

Maybe this time, For the first time,
Love won't hurry away.

Jack’s chest tightened.

He will hold me fast.
I'll be home at last.

Earth wasn’t home but, with Ianto, it was where Jack wanted to be.

Not a loser, anymore,
like the last time and the time before.

Placing a gentle kiss on Ianto’s temple Jack silently begged of any listening deity, “Let me win, just this once.”
