The first thing were the chocolates. Mei graciously took them, eyes glittering happily. She had only expected an awkward meeting, where she'd explain she only knew her because of Scar and hoped that it hadn't bothered her too much when she wasn't particularly sure what she wanted or where she came from, but a gift would make things plenty easier, especially one so sweet and cute as this.

"Thank you, Riza-san!" She bowed again, careful not to drop her gift, only restraining herself in front of her guest. "It is nice to meet you. Scar-san says you are worthy of trust, so I will give it to you as well." Scar would never steer her wrong, whether it was the same one or not. She could already tell she was worthy of the trust she sought, just by looking into those eyes. Unlike most of the people here, she didn't feel different. She was completely human and a human was reason enough to be a little less awkward.

"I'm afraid I don't know what you're saying. I hadn't met you before I arrived here, but if you would tell me the story, I would be grateful." She frowned in thought. "Ling, of the Yao clan, was here, but he spoke of things that hadn't occurred yet, to my knowledge. He says he has the Way of Immortality, the Philosopher's stone. What has happened?"
