shiver me... anyway. )
He'd settled in, prepared for the long ride. A game of dice? Sure, why not? He brought some books to read, but this looks like a fun way to pass some time. His brother would probably kill him for gambling, but it would only be a few ivory...
Not long later, Alphonse is the proud winner of... A ghost maid? Is this the actual spirit of a once living-human being? A soul? Is it sentient? What makes it different than anyone else on this ship?]
"Except for the armor, what makes it different from ME?" he muttered quietly to himself.
[The ghost is a maid? Was it willing? Was this slavery? Would Alphonse need to pay it ( ... )

I... She's a ghost. It.. doesn't make sense.
H-hi, Io. What are you doing here?
[He doesn't mean it rudely. It just seems a little odd to him.]

But. Wait. What was that thing and why were they sitting playing games when that broadcast--those people needed their help? Ed shakes his head after watching a while.]
Dammit....Al, we need to.... [To help them. If they can, he doesn't want another Nina, another person they could have saved but didn't. Ed can't let that happen, not again.]

Ed! I.. was just, I mean, it's a long ride and... My books were... I won a ghost maid!

[This is certainly someone Greed didn't expect to see on this ship. What with him having oh-so-nobly sacrificed himself back to the Gate in exchange for his brother's right arm and all.
...But time was weird here, wasn't it? So maybe that just hasn't happened ye--
And that's when Greed notices another thing. He's pretty sure the tin can wasn't copper the last time he saw him, either. He raps on the armor with the back of one hand and gives the boy something of a flat look.]
What, steel grow old on you or something?
