What: A trip across the sea into who knows where.

[Welcome the Victoria, Anatole's very own ghost ship. Manned by zombies and populated by ghosts, the ship unfortunately doesn't smell especially good. But its residents are friendly enough... when unprovoked.]
[The ship itself is an old and rusty vessel made of ancient steel, some strange hybrid of pirate ship and steamship. If you're observant enough, you may note that its crew appears to be sailors more than pirates, and that its captain is a zombie with a dead - yet talking - bird on its shoulder. The crew eyes you, is wary of you, but does not act with hostility.]
[Pull up a seat on the deck, old friends, play a game of dice. Explore the bowels of the ship, if you've the stomach for closed quarters and the stink of zombie flesh. The trip is hours long, and we have time to spare.]

(ooc: Just an open log for anyone bringing their characters across to the island, provided for interaction and CR building. And as a last bit of respite before the chaos begins.
Early in the trip, expect nothing but mist and the far away glow of the flames from... somewhere. By late evening, expect to hear the roar of the dragon, and then of its monster parasites, and then of the people of the island, alongside the familiar warcry of the elves. Feel free to set your thread at any time you like - if it's specific, you might want to specify. A narrative will go up when the ship gets to the island!
Being onboard the ghost ship provides some defense from the mist - your character may still experience side effects, but nothing worse than level 2. The island itself will be clear.
