[ It may have been barely fall but already the wind cut deeply, and the damp atmosphere that the damned mist assisted in creating only made things cold - and wet. She hadn't much of a winter coat, and shivered slightly whilst padding along the dirt ground of the slowly declining garden outside the refugee run clinic. True to the dampness that hung in the air, the ground was soft beneath her feet, and when the brunette finally paused before a clump of wilting flowers. ]
[ It was evening, and while the city was definitely alive, it was not bustling. It hadn't been properly bustling since that light house had sprung into light, and with the only people in a somewhat close distance were those in the clinic, and it was doubtful that they paid much attention to her, let alone strained their ears to listen to her as she knelt by the little bush and touched it gently. ]

[ It was a light swear as the bedraggled flower head fell back at a broken angle the second her fingers stopped supporting it. ]
[ A stake in the ground with a few knots of rope didn't seem like it would be enough for the frigid flower to survive and rely upon and she had just about prepared to sigh and stand and swipe the dirt from her knees - prepared to get up and go back home and, godfuckingshit she would start a fire or something because it was chilly - when... ]
[ Even in the fading light of evening in winter, she could see the slight tone change as a shadow fell across the dirt - a foreign shadow that didn't belong to her and seemed to tall and too big to belong to any sort of dog. ]
