He already knew that here the energies at work had rendered his usual presence to be visible by all, annoying as it was. Simply strolling down the streets with the locals was not an option, or at least not the one he'd immediately choose when Sonido made for a perfectly good method of transportation, and rooftops a more preferable vantage point. Ulquiorra kept his reiatsu under tight control, not only so that it would be easier to sense the various strains of energies in the city to investigate so much as try to keep unwanted attention from himself. The latter would have been easier if he didn't stick out like a sore thumb.
Of course, no matter how discreet one tended to be, there were always some things that were just better handled when directly addressed. And in other cases, it was simply unavoidable, which put to the test just how convenient or preferred it was to make contact over the Forges.
