...again!

There were a lot of repeated elements in the past few days. JC is a wrap (no, Caesar, not that JC), I did my bit, and it was good. Friday we were going to the cast party but got caught in a downpour after dinner, and got soaked to the skin...and then we got to Greenbelt and got out to the car, during which time it poured again...and after that, I just wanted to get some dry clothes on and crawl into bed and forget that happened, so I did.

Saturday's crowd featured no one of my cohort who said they would be there...but I did sneak a sonic screwdriver on stage as a prop. You win a few, you lose a few. The cast party was a hectic affair: came there, had to drive home Kid-2 and the DW, came back, left for that install at work, couldn't get access to the building, said fuck it, came back a third time and hung out for a little while before leaving again and finally heading home at sunrise. I had some bheers, got to steal a kiss (tazira), and was going to go for the boykiss as requested, but tommx had a mouth full'a chips ("The crab chips compel you!") Anyway, much thanks to the chip boy for hosting, and to chickenhat for being the guy in charge. I should do that more often, p'rhaps.

The fantasy baseball season is also a wrap, and I finished second - again - to koomologist - again. My strategy for next season is to find koomologist right before the season starts and stuff him into the cargo hold of a trans-Atlantic plane. In a box marked "Do Not Open 'Til Christmas".

Kid-1 had the surgery yesterday, and while I held my breath and cursed myself roundly for not doing enough to protect her, it did go just fine - slightly better than expected, in fact - and all seems to be on the mend. In a weird circumstance, Kid-1 had to do some rehab of the knee just to be able to have the surgery, so she is laid up, again, and on crutches, again. Yesterday following the surgery was a series of well-wishers (including starfyrone - thanks!), one after the other, as friends and teammates came by to drop off flowers, fruit baskets, sweets, books, DVDs, and other gifts; the parade continues today as papertigers has sent nummies and is coming by. Rock stars do not get this kind of treatment.

And though I currently have it running on an external monitor, the laptop is still in need of attention. I got and installed a new inverter, but that didn't do it - meaning it's the backlight bulb, which I am not looking forward to replacing, as it's a pain in the ass and a zillion things could go wrong. Pfeh. So, I have to get a replacement part - again...

Yeah, there is definitely a theme, here.

fantasy baseball league, theatre, bragging about kids, weather, technology, acting
