Regarding "The Doctor's Wife", I had a thought...

The TARDIS is clearly not above doing things to the Doctor if she believes it's for the best.  It's funny thinking about past episodes where the TARDIS lands in unexpected places and wondering whether she had, yet again, derailed the Doctor's plans so that he can save the day.  "Aliens of London", for example, or "The Fires of Pompeii."  And I gotta wonder whether she flew so well for River in "The Time of Angels" because she likes messing with him just as much as River does.

But then I thought about "The Doctor's Daughter."  We're told that the TARDIS dragged them all off to that war as part of a paradox: she was seeking Jenny, and in doing so, helped cause her to be.  We're told so by the Doctor.  What if it was actually the TARDIS's attempt to give the Doctor someone permanent?

(Also, "The Sound of Drums"/"Last of the Time Lords" was traumatic before.  If I watch them again, I think I might cry.)
