Bit of American culture trivia: elaborate names are associated with Southerners.  Possibly New England old money, but mostly Southerners.  "Canton Everett Delaware III" sounds very Southern.  We do three names, but usually one of the first two is normal-sounding, with the other name not being used (or known!) 99% of the time.  (This makes graduation ceremonies entertaining when you find out that your classmate Steven A. Johnson was hiding "Aristotle.")

I knew a guy with four names once, the first and third being very odd, and he went by "B.J."  And yes, he was Southern.
