Friday we were watching The Big Bang Theory (we're on the second season), and we abruptly realized something.
I'm Sheldon.
I mean, okay, my IQ is a good deal less than 180ish, and I don't have any doctorates, and I actually like people and try to treat them with dignity and kindness, but man alive, there are so many times when his reaction to something is exactly what I was thinking. It's frightening. The OCD, the tendency to treat social situations like some kind of science project, the over analysis of everything, the talent for saying things that come off as deeply insulting when I meant nothing of the sort...
Though it made perfect sense to cast Amy as Leonard. Trudy claimed to be Raj, but Annie refused point-blank to being Howard, so we said she was Penny.
I was trying to explain to my dad this morning why someone like myself, who doesn't often cook, should find a high-quality stand mixer necessary. 'Cause I do know there are times when I want to bake, but don't, because doing everything manually is just too much work. Dad said, "You could use a hand mixer." I said, "It's not the same. Ask Mom." I'd use a hand mixer for little projects, say if I had a desire to make merengue (a desire I have yet to experience), but trying to do anything with flour in it? Not worth the trouble.
My bandwidth is currently being eaten by a torrent. Guess what it's for?
