I totally forgot, but it was the first day of summer on Thursday: the first day of Harpa, the first summer month in the Old Norse calendar (which only had six summer and six winter months BTW).

Funny thing - ever since Baggalútur's Það koma vonandi jól came out, I've been wondering about part of the lyrics, and now I think I finally understood them.

I like Brian Eno's Music for Airports (also known as Ambient I, and incidentally this is why ambient music is called that) quite a bit. In addition to the original studio version that's a great live recording by Bang On A Can (better than the studio version too) that came out in the late 90s and that's very much worth listening to.
