Germaine: princess
I wish I could say I mean a historically accurate one, but I mean a fluffy pink one. she'll love it. chris's mom brought over a pink prom dress from her shop (I think) that is damaged, and said I could use the fabric to make something for germaine. it'll be some work, but it's the only costume that needs much work, and it'll be worth it to her :) as for the headpiece, it'll probably be cold out, so it'll end up something like a tiara stuck on over a winter hat :P
Linus: bee
a year or two ago, a friend of my mom's brought over some used costume pieces, some complete, some incomplete. the bee costume is basically a striped tunic with white felt wings and a black felt stinger. it'll need underneath it black pants (which he has) and a yellow or black shirt (both of which he has, so, oooh, options!) and then I'll have to rig up some antennae to a black hat (again with the cold) out of pipe cleaners or felt or something.
I pulled it out to try on him the other day, and he kept pointing at himself and grinning and saying "bzz", so I guess it's a hit! he's such a bug fanatic.
Dietrich: cow
among the same heap of costumes the bee came in there's a baby-sized, homemade cow costume. bodysuit with tail, hood (not attached, a separate piece) with ears, and even little footies and cow print mittens! he'll be cute and cozy... it's only a bit too big now, by a month and a half from now it probably will fit much better.
me: no idea
chris is so far scheduled to work 12 hours on halloween. he thinks he can switch with someone, but if not, I'll be taking the kids out with just my brother, who
wears the same thing every year, and then I might just wear regular clothes with a funny hat or mask or facepaint or something. if chris gets off, we'll probably then do real costumes.
Chris: SCT
which means "specialty care technician", his new title on the new unit he just moved to. their uniform is brown and black. gross.
unless of course he gets off. then who knows what he will dress as.
