It is very late. I just can't sleep. But I guess that's normal considering the kind of day it was.
My best friend Stephanie got married today!
It was a beautiful day.
Steph looked incredible.
Everything went perfectly.
And now, Steph and Josh are husband and wife.
I couldn't stop smiling when I looked at them today. And for the first time being at a wedding (and I've been to many), I realized the depth and seriousness of their decision. They've known that they've wanted to get married for months already, but only today did they seal that vow. Under God and all of their friends and relatives, they promised, not only to be together until death, but also to follow their vows. They promised to try to love each other more than themselves. What an incredible thing to strive for! They promised to honor each other, be faithful to each other, walk beside each other...for life.
What a beautiful testament.
I'm not married, and I don't understand the difficulties and beauties of marriage (who does?), but I figure, if all couples put more emphasis on the keeping of the vows, the staying together part would be much easier.
