In bottle: well, definitely spiced tea. It smells anise-y to me, which brings the Chinese medicine shop to mind. Not quite something I would like to smell like. I'm trying to get the other notes, but the anise gets in the way for me. Am I going to regret skin-testing this?

Earl Grey tea leaves, a white fougere, jasmine leaf, pearlescent white musk, and vanilla bean.

In decant: tea, quite herbal. There's a touch of vanilla, but overall it's a clean herbal scent. Gender neutral.

A mélange of silvery musk, iris, licorice root, black currant, apple blossom, patchouli root, violet, heliotrope, anise, and tonka bean.

In decant - definitely patchouli, with a slightly fruity tone. Dirt--although I usually just get "dirt" from patchouli anyway. Dark and herbal--maybe the anise? Also powdery to my nose.

Warm musk with soft leather, a dusting of dry wildflowers and herbs, sweetgrass, sage, shagbark hickory, and Canadian balsam.

In decant: floral leather, balsam, green and floral. Tart, and faintly spicy-sweet. The leather and balsam give it a masculine edge, but the florals make it feminine, so it's neither one or the other. Not entirely "neutral" ( Read more... )

In imp: very herbal, tangy, and sharp. There is a slight citrus note as well as a slight woody note. It's a clean, green scent.

Wet on skin: green and herbal, very citrusy as well. I can get the sandalwood in the background, and the lemon (lemongrass?) note is sometimes topmost. ( Read more... )

Water-logged and rotting wood, fallen chestnuts, oak leaf, bog laurel, and Virginia creeper.

In imp: ugh, rotting wood indeed. My stomach is complaining here. It's kind of powdery-spicy to my nose, and there's a slight sweetness. I want to skip testing, but I'll give it a try.
