Cooking

I've been getting back into cooking lately. Today I attempted sweet potato gnocchi - I didn't do fantatically, I'll admit, but I enjoyed it - apart from the immense faffiness of the whole thing. I think I added in way too much flour. It seemed necessary - the mixture was nothing but goo otherwise, but obviously over-flouring is also bad. They tasted heavy and ...floury funnily enough. But I've read up and found some tips for next time I give it a go. The buttery, garlic, asparagus sauce helped disguise the wrongness.

I've been making up lovely salads for lunches - olives, chorizo, rocket, tomato, sometimes feta. I also made my first ever batch of hummous yesterday which was delicious to snack on. Baked sweet potato with piles of leek and rockfort cheese were most tasty last night, and I'm having a go at puff pastry parcels with goats cheese, tomato and other lovely stuff tomorrow.

I told myself I'd do some exercising before bed (I'm on a bit of a health kick - pfft, go me) but I can't be bothered now. Damn it, is this why I never manage to get fit?
