Girls are one big fucking contradiction. Hence the reggression of my attitude. Apparantly, i had it right before when i was in highschool

Well this is my second time reading this through, the first time when I was up in miami. When I was reading it, as much as I dont like to admitt it, parts of what you said were right Jake, almost scary in fact. The funny thing is, my dad, who's a child psychiatrist, just talked me the other day about stuff like this(scary I know, trust me I dont like the fact that he analyzes my friends/ relationships but what are ya gonna do) So anyways, he said that every girl has an inherent desire to be in what he referred to as "rescue scenarios" where they truly believe that they can change the guys who they are with. He said that he has had countless moms, daughters, sisters, you name it, who are miserable because they spend they're lives trying to "rescue" these guys in their lives, by helping them become a better person. So you are right by that point. Maybe girls think people can change more than guys do. I know I personally am a great believer in the idea that people can change, and that everyone deserves multiple chances. I mean I guess I'm a prime example of someone who puts up with people's shit. Step right up and examine my relationships, up until about a month ago that is when I stood my ground and walked away (a big step for me) "That" type of guy (who would hold hands, kisses the ground u walk on etc)who you talked about DOES happen to be one of my best friends, and ya that is great that there are guys out there who actually do that, so i agree with you on that point, but the reason I don't like him isn't because "I'd get bored" or anything like that, I just dont feel a connection with him. I mean trust me I've tried, I've had almost every person in my life tell me I should be with him because he is "soo nice, and likes me soo much, and would treat me soo well". But for me that doesnt cut it, you can't make yourself like someone because you know they'll treat well, cause if you're trying to convince yourself to be in a relationship with someone, i dont care how much hand-holding/ forehead-kissing is going on, that relationship has MUCH bigger problems. I don't know why girls, me for example, go back to someone after they've hurt them. I can't speak for every girl, maybe they do like the "thrill or uncertainty", but for me... hell I don't even know why I do. Being in high-school, i can speak from experience about high school relationships... I dont know for everyone else, but for me, maybe when I was younger I put up with being hurt because I didnt know any better. I mean when you go from guys ignoring you to an "upper classman" telling you you're beautiful, you're bound to fall hard, and that's what happened. He hurt me, yeah it sucked but I still cared for him. He promised he'd change, and for the most part he did, he hurt me again, once again stung like a bitch, a few tears were shed, but I still cared for him, maybe even more so. I promised myself I wouldnt put myself through it again, but last fall I was drawn in again, and guess what, I got hurt. I hurt him too, but alls fair in love and war I suppose. I agree with a lot of things ur saying Jake, except for the part about girls liking the instability of relationships. If anything, the only reason we do hold on is because we're hoping for some kind of stabilty on the guys part, not knowing how someone feels for you is probably one of the worst things in the world so I dont think that's it. But I guess looking back now on everything that's happened, the being hurt parts dont matter. It was the parts in between that do. Sorry, I'm getting off subject as well as getting kinda long... basically, girls just want a guy who cares for them and isnt afraid to show it sometimes, not all the time mind you, it's the little things that bring you back to the people you care for. K i'm done, sorry about not being annoymous, I was already logged in, but posts comments back cause I want to know what people think -Katie

So true. The worst part is, alot of times the one getting hurt, is too blinded by everything to even recognize that their situation is not normal
Haha i love how psych has a name for everytyhing, "rescue scenarios"
