1. Now that they have repealed the law prohibiting out-of-state marriages, Rebecca and I can get married in Massachusetts! We don't have to settle for some half-assed NJ "civil union." Our marriage license still won't be valid in PA, but progress is progress. We want to go next year, just get the ceremony done in court with a witness, then have a reception here for friends and family. Does anyone know an inexpensive place for a reception here? We definitely don't want to break the bank.
2. Speaking of bank, after I get paid next week, we are going to start an Orange Savings account from ING. Weee!
3. So, Rebs turns 28 on the 9th! I am getting her a jewelry armoire. I can talk about this because I couldn't conceivably buy one and hide it in the apartment for a week. Though, I've bought her some other things of equal or greater value which I can easily keep hidden...mwahaha! Anyway, I drove all over the Lehigh Valley looking for an armoire today. I tried Target, Sears, D&D Furniture, Bed Bath & Beyond and J.C. Penny. No dice. The only armoires they had were almost as tall as me and, like, $500 each. I know that the one I have came from Wal-Mart many years ago, but I've been boycotting them for a year or so now. Any ideas?
4. I got a flat tire today, while driving around in search of said armoire. I spent about an hour of my day off waiting in the middle of a parking lot for AAA and another hour waiting to get a new tire put on the car at Pep Boys, because the flat one was worn beyond repair.
5. We started cleaning the apartment tonight because the Rebs's grandparents are coming up on Sunday to take her out for lunch. Unlike her dad and other grandmother, who came last weekend, these grandparents will actually care if it's a mess in here. I got the dinning room area very organized but there is still very much to be done. (Mental note: I want to make room in the foyer closet, put the plastic storage thing with drawers that I have now in there, and get a 2nd book case for the dinning room).
6. The beads are back and we're gonna have a party! I went up to my mom's house and once again confinscated all the beads which could possibly be used in stretch bracelets, so I can increase my productivity without having to drive to New Tripoli whenever the inspiration strikes. I made a myspace as portfolio for jewelry photos:
