I know I haven't mentioned this subject in a while!
But lately, business has picked up and it's actually been worth making stuff again.
Earlier this year, the one store that we sell to bought some anklets from us, which they do every six months or so. After that, though, my mom decided to take them some of the stretchy bracelets we've been making, and since then they've been consistently buying stretchy bracelets every few weeks. The store keeps them by the register, apparently they're a great impulse buy because they're reasonably priced, and they go like hotcakes.
Also, my jeweler friend has been needing stretchies from us again for her summer shows.
Between her and the store we've made about $1000 from jewelry this year. That's not bad...
AND... my jeweler friend is doing three big shows in succession, from October to December, and wants to buy 500 stretchies from us. That will keep me busy for the next few months and make it our BIGGEST jewelry-selling year to date.
Next year, I'd like to pick up one or two more stores.
It would be nice if I could do this full-time and give up my job. But that's extraordinarily doubtful.
