iPod Cozy

Pattern for iPod cozy. Picture lost, hopefully I will remember to replace it soon. I have a hard shell case for it, but I worry about my bottom port getting dirty or sticky. Hehe. I said. "I worry about my bottom port getting dirty or sticky".

This was my first try at kitchener. I had to chant to myself, "knit - slip off, purl - leave on; purl - slip off, knit - leave on", but I got the hang of it.

YARN: Mere scraps of Plymouth Dreambaby (50%acrylic/50%nylon) Purple and Green

GAUGE: #2 needles = 7 sts per inch, 12 rows per inch
iPod circumference (while in snap-over Agent 18 hardcase) = 6 ¾ " (17 cm)

PATTERN:
CO 48, join to work in the round, work in 1x1 rib w/ MC for 3 rounds
Continue in 1x1 rib w/ CC for 3 rounds

NOTE: Drop MC but DO NOT BREAK (Twist unused yarn with working yarn on each round at color join. Pull HARD on both colors to make sure join is tight and uniform.)

Change to MC (switch colors every 3 rounds) and St st on round 6
Continue St st and stripe pattern until a total of 54 rounds have been completed

On round 55: k1, k2tog, k2tog, k14, k2tog, k2tog, k2, k2tog, k2tog, k14, k2tog, k2tog, k1
When round is complete, use kitchener stitch to graft end closed.
Weave yarn tails.
ROCK OUT.

FUTURE MODIFICATIONS: I'm considering making a small diamond shaped hole to go over the center of the click wheel. You don't need full diameter to control volume, and the outer areas used for clicking work through the fabric. Just a thought.
