hey everyone!
i've posted a couple rooms to this community, but never my entire apartment. i've lived in this apartment for nearly 4 years and recently decided it was time to move... and i'll be out by the end of the month. this is really bittersweet for me, as i love the apartment and everything that i've done to it, but i have a long long list of reasons why i need to be out NOW. my space has always been evolving and thus never really "finished," but this is pretty much my last opportunity to post it here to this comm!

please be kind. i realize some of my stuff isn't super super saucy, but like i said... i was always working on something. since i'm moving, there won't be much improving on this space, but i am excited to see what i get to work with in the future!

FYI: i am 24 and i live by myself in nashville, tn. nearly everything in my apartment (and i mean EVERYTHING) was either thrifted, passed down, or came out of a dumpster. i decorate on the cheap, yo!

here is a basic layout of my apt... for those of you who are confused (don't worry, a LOT of people are!), the seemingly "random" hallway is there so you can go from the front of the apartment to the back without passing through the bedroom ;) oh, and the red lines represent windows. there are a lot of windows!! oh, and this is way off scale - my sewing room is waaay bigger than my bedroom. whatev.

half of the kitchen. my kitchen is tiny and really hard to photograph, but it is my favorite room in the place! i made all the curtains and redid the floor with white stick-on tiles.

other half of the kitchen. i based the color scheme around the back to the future poster :)

kitchen sink/counter area.

this is a really crummy/dark picture, but this is the window in my kitchen, and where my fridge is.

red room - initially, this was intended to be a dining room, but i made it my living room (since my sewing room takes up what should be the living room). this room is TINY - maybe 30sq ft. it is also the only room i did not repaint during my stay here - it was red when i moved in.

wall next to the couch. the expedit shelf and solsta couch are twp pf the three "new" pieces of furniture in my apt - both from ikea, obviously :)

bedroom. the armoire belonged to my great-grandmother.

bed. i rasterized the image hanging over the bed. the duvet cover is from west elm and is probably one of the most expensive things in my apt ;)

bedroom windows - the curtains are from urban outfitters, the tissue pom-poms were made using martha stewart's guidance.

this is the foyer - i made an entry about it's makeover a couple months ago. the chandelier is painted freehand on the wall (heh heh my landlord is gonna be pissed) and the damask is stencilled on... i made the stencil as well.

hallway (leading back to the living room/kitchen) to the left, bedroom to the right

this is my bathroom. it is blue, eerily similar to the entry. i was going to repaint is a delicious red wine/plum color, but i think i'll wait until i move and attack something else with the paint instead. i took this picture in 2007, the bathroom still looks the exact same today hahahaha

my sewing room! i repainted it after the green and got about halfway through the ~redecorating~ when i decided that i wanted to move, hence the half-assed look of it. sorry everything is so messy - i never finished organizing! now everything is packed away :(
LLADYBIRD is my clothing line, FYI.

the pale green sewing table was supposed to be painted red... never got around to it, whoops.

other half of the sewing room... the white expedit was purchased from ikea, the cutting table and dress dummy were gifts. everything else is thrifted.

aaand the fire escape! obviously it doesn't look ANYTHING like that now, but it was a nice place to sit in the summer and enjoy all the pretty greenery and flowers :)

thanks for looking!
please let me know what you think!!
