Went live yesterday. Sigh, as usual, I wince at my own incoherence--I wish I wasn't so visually oriented . . . ah well, we are what we are.

Anyway, if anyone makes it through the whole thing and wants to talk about any of it, well, here's the place.

Fantasy readers are aware that there is no one type of fantasy. Dividing books up into subgenres can be tough all the more vexatious when one shows once labored over list to a couple of friends, just to hear, "How could you put those two together? At SF-Site, my review* of Jim C. Hines’ newest novel, The Stepsister Sceheme, is up. As one can see from the cover what we have here are fightin’ princesses. Hines draws on various retellings of popular fairy tales and refashions the old tropes to appeal to contemporary readers ( Read more... )
