Back in a warm home. The heater issue turned out to be a loose connection and cost us nothing but time, though I think I'll be bringing the guys at Sound Auto a case of beer.
I'm about 5 shades of pissed off right now, as the dog is often let in, because he barks constantly when outside and not out, because he DOESN'T bark when he's inside. Resulting in yours truly having to clean up leavings for the 4th time in a week. The problem is he barks constantly when he's outside, I'm sure he KNOWS someone will let him in if he's persistent. This time I showed him the shovel and he disappeared around the corner. Sent rather volatile txt message to the missing roommate. I keep wondering how much a 96 lb dog would go for on the black market. The dog stays outside until I see a dog door.
I want out.
Otherwise, everything's going all right. Business is good, time to get some invoices out, and its warm here. Ahhhh.
Mike put on 'Snowball Earth', a documentary about geology and the evidence pointing toward a time when the planet may have been completely iced over, fascinating, but not fascinating enough to stave off a warm environment and >3 nights of interrupted or not much sleep. I'll have to watch it again. 'twas a great nap, though.
Ironically, the best night's sleep I've had was Saturday night in one of the worst possible... we were parked on a hill, laying heads-down with no heat to speak of in below freezing weather. Amazing what you can accomplish after a day of helping people move and a couple of drinks, we were up at noon when the sun had warmed the beastie to a decent level. Mike only woke me up twice(usually I lose count but I snore like un untamed beast, so it evens out), and one of those he was scratching in his sleep while his elbow was making repeated contact with my head. He won a wake-up thump for that one.
Anyway, Saturday the Women lucked out, having the two of us, Bev, Charlie, three other guys and a woman to help out. I kept thinking Bev had the worst job, which was watching -and keeping one's temper- around two 2-year-olds, both of which had no qualms about breaking into air-raid siren without warning. I don't know how well I would've handled that. We took the kid for a ride in the bestie and she did really well, but as soon as we were at the new place and Mom disappeared....Yeeesh.
Later that night, Sue & I returned from a coffee and cat run to see mike & the child asleep on the couch. We flapped at teh Kyoot and lamented the lack of camera. Mike roused to a 'coyote' situation until Sue rescued him.
Sunday after breakfast we headed back to Oly with a stop at Sportco for Pjs and coffee, alas, their deli was closed.
We found an alternative and groceries, parked, I left for Chief's and Mike to work on his novel. Chief makes really good beans. How is THAT?
Watched the new King of the HIll, mostly because it was on. I was surprised I actually liked it. Peggy hooked up with a Drag queen who thought she was a dude. Hank never did figure out 'Carolyn' was a guy. I got my answer on how a show like that would handle interactions with gay people..well, transvestites in this case, still no answer on the gay front.
The jobs are rolling in strangely but surely, ready to be on my toes in the time management dept. Towersey, Bougainville ...Must...work...or stay trapped in the US. I can't believe I haven't left the 'states for almost three years. eesh.
Anyway, I'm better today but my poor partner is all sniffy in trying to get over some bug. I'm going to make him Grilled cheese & tomoato soup.
