This evening I was walking to the Metro. For the past few days, there's been various displays by the escalators of pictures/prints of Obama. I was eying them this evening - they all had various phrases on them, and I was trying to read them all. And RIGHT when I passed them and got to see what they said, the theme from The West Wing came on my iPod, which was on shuffle.
Coincidence?
Well, obviously, yes. But it was still cool. I got a little teary.
I also got teary, and really wanted to just sob, right before getting off the Metro, as I finally finished She's Come Undone. A great book, not nearly as good as I Know This Much is True, but pretty darn good, and it has a great, very satisfying ending. That made me want to weep. But, I've had the pleasure of crying on the Metro before (thanks David Sedaris and Traveling Pants books) and, really, it's just embarrassing. So I held it in.
