AWA ROCKED!!! I had so much fun and I LOVE MY LUCKY FAN!!! FULL METAL SECOND RAID *SQUEEEE*
Ok. I shall attempt to me coherent now. Saturday morning I got up at the crack of dawn (4:50) and got my self ready. I had recently bought a VERY cute babydoll T-shirt that had a pink heart on it and had ANIME etched through the heart in the original light pink color of the shirt. VERY cute. I had fixed muffins the night before for us to have on the road and had brought some manga (Shojo Beat) for Jenny to read on the road so Jason wouldn't get annoyed at her. I met Jason at six and called my mom then we were off the get Jenny. I called my mom when we got in the car (she was worried that it was a boy that had picked me up and wanted to make sure he wouldn't take me in a dark alley and have his wicked way with me or something. *rolls eyes* pulease!!!) and we were off to Atlanta. I found out Jenny was a little to young for Absolute Boyfriend (one the the mangas in Shojo Beat) and had to contain myself at her expression. lol (almost a full shot of a naked animatronic guy. It didn't show his little friend though) She liked the rest of it though. We talked, laughed and played anime music on the way there and Jason gave me a fansub (subtitled by fans and not a company) copy of Kadocha (for which I will love him forever and cook him many yummy things) because Funmation sucks.
We got to Atlanta with no car malfunctions and called Travis whom had already got our passes for us so we didn't have to stand in that LOOOONG line. We paid him the $20.00 for the tickets and entered the hotel it was being held in. We sat and took pictures of all the great costumes that were being cosplayed as we waited for the convention to open up. Finally, after a great deal of milking the crowd, they opened up and let us into the dealer room. OMG I have never seen so much anime gear in one place before! There was manga, fansubs, anime, cells, posters, wall scrolls, mouse pads, a CRAP LOAD of Hentai (anime porn), pens, back packs, T-shirts (but not as cute as mine), kimonos (that were really expensive), Katanas, paper umbrellas and two whole booths dedicated to japanese food and drink. I bought a DVD for $10.00, a discounted Shojo Jump for $5.00, lotza pocky, some candy and a really cool drink where the bottle is the coolest container on earth for $12.00. Aside from that there was LOADS of free stuff. From one booth I got the lucky fan, a poster and a cataloge. From another I got a crap load of posters and a cute pin.
The first event we went to was the ADV question and answer session. You ask a question you get a DVD. I was one of the first ones called on thanks to my lucky fan which I waved around like a crazy person along with my other arm. The key was to get noticed. I asked my two questions and got a really cool one. Gilgamesh! yay! Jenny used my lucky fan and one of her own and got called on. (while makeing an idiot of herself. I got a piccy >:) She got E's Otherwise disk three which Katie bought from her. Then Jason used my fan, stood up and waved a book around and asked a question they didn't like. He got a crappy disk lol. Anyway, now you know the story of the lucky fan.
After that we went to lunch and watched all the hotel guest stare at the cosplayers. THAT was entertaining. SPOOK THE NORMS!!! Then we went back to the dealer room and bought what we wanted. (we had a look around first to see what we wanted) Then we watched most of Appleseed (I had seen it but that movie STILL rocks!) Then we went and saw the last half of the lame anime they were showing and making fun of. See, we don't get all the anime that is made in Japan to come over here. We only get the good stuff. I had TEARS rolling down my cheeks some of it was so bad! My favorite were these cuddly looking puppet dinos killing all the anime humans. The heros of the anime were old and fat too! After that we went and watched something I had been looking forward to all day. Full Metal Panic Second raid! YAYAYAYAYAY!!! SOOOOooooooooooooo cool! I can't wait till it comes out! This is one that's still running in Japan and hasn't been licesened yet (though ADV will probably get it. They have all the other full metal panics) Hopefully by the time it comes out I will have completed my Full Metal Panic and Full Metal Panic FUMOFU collection. I don't know if it's my FAVORITE series but it's on up there.
After that we started home. The camera was full, we were beat and I had to teach Sunday School the next day. We ate dinner at about 9:00 in a mall about thirty mins away and got all nervous when the bell rang to tell us to leave. (we thought it was the fire bell at first) We made the trip back home and talked the WHOLE time about everything from theology to our fav Jpop. lol. I got in at about 11:00 and was BEAT!!! I was dead on my feet on Sunday but ooooohhh that was SO FUN!! Next year, I'm making a costume and going on friday AND saturday!!!
