ROCKTOBER! (AKA Go Rockies!)
Hello Flist! Hope everyone has been doing well! Things here have been pretty good. I can't believe that the Colorado Rockies have made it to the World Series! How crazy is that? I went to a game in June and Coors Field was maybe a fourth full and now Denver is going nuts with Rockies fever! It's actually pretty cool, but ironic. It would be amazing if we won it all. We'll see.
A couple of weeks ago dad and I went and saw the touring production of Spamalot. Quite amusing. I have never watched a lot of Monty Python but man this was funny. We had a great time. Last Friday night I went to see one of my favorite a capella groups, Rockapella (Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?), perform. They are so talented and so funny! I'd forgotten how much I enjoy them as it has been 5 years since they were last in Denver and they have changed two members but they are just as talented as they always have been, if not more.
Wednesday afternoon I have an appointment at my house for a pre drywall meeting. So exciting! I should find out the closing date for sure but I know for a fact that it will not be after November 30th. I feel like it is taking forever and yet it is coming so fast. I've loved watching the progress as they are building it and I need to update you guys in pictures soon. Last Saturday I had a meeting about warranty stuff and met a couple of my neighbors which was cool. At this point the house can't get done soon enough but I am becoming nervous about the closing and everything I have to do. This is actually happening! Wow!
Things at work have been ok. I am overwhelmed still and really not caring much about anything which isn't good. We had a lot of drama about a week ago with getting teacher incentive pay for test scores going up (which I don't really agree with). Every teacher in my school is getting an extra $550 for incentive pay which is great! Then we saw that the other schools are getting $1150, $1400, $1600, and $2000 respectively. Needless to say people were upset being that the school getting the most money still does not have as good of test scores as we do, they just happened to jump 30 points this last year because they had no where to go but up. Good for them for doing that but...ok it's complicated but lets just say that this incentive pay has made a huge disconnect between the schools and district administration now, something that was just starting to mend. The way this issue was handled all around has not been good. So yeah, drama.
Boy and I are still doing very well. I am starting to get some concern from friends that I am not spending time with them and alienating myself and they are worried about me. I love that they tell me this stuff though it is difficult to hear but I need to because I can't see it. I certainly have wonderful friends!
