I remember now...
1st Day of school! WooHoo! Now I remember why I go through all the BS that I do, it's because of the kids. It's because of the 8th grader that told me I made her day and when I asked why she said "because I saw you!" and gave me a big hug. (Isn't that the best compliment ever?! That you made their day just by seeing you?). It's because of the sister of the girl who died at the end of last school year who came and gave me a big hug and shared some memories of her sister. It's all the waves and smiles and "Hi Ms. Jill!" in the hallways. It is so good to have the kiddos back.
And incidentally I only had to change three or four schedules and the rest were fine. Yay! Several people commented on the smooth start to the year which was really nice. All the stress did pay off in the end. Now, hopefully, we will have a great year!
