I spent 12.5 hours on the road yesterday to be able to post that I am visiting my daughter up in the middle section of Sweden. You see, she wasn't able to come visit for Christmas, I haven't seen her for a few months AND tomorrow is her 21st birthday! So, of course, I HAD to visit her! My baby will no longer be a baby after tomorrow.
Over 3 hours of the travel time yesterday was spent dealing with a flat tire. I tried to change it myself, but the tire wrench kept slipping off of the nuts. Looks like I'll have to buy a better quality tire wrench. In any case, not one motorist stopped to ask if I needed help. And, even though I had the warning triangle about 50 meters behind the car, most did not bother to change lanes. Huge semi-trailers went whizzing by at 100km per hour! It was scary. We do have a road assistance, so I called and had to wait about 45 minutes for them to arrive. If I'd been on the side of the road in the USA, I'll bet that a dozen or so motorists would have stopped to help me during the hour and a half that I was stuck out there yesterday.
Oh, and I lose one of my four winter studded tires yesterday because of the flat, which I am not worried about because there is almost no snow in all of Sweden and it snows here last night... of course... Thankfully it was only a dusting of snow, but it had better not snow while I'm driving home tomorrow. And, that's all I have to say about that!
