Thanks, I could just kiss you!

Thanks to you, my friends, for your sympathetic thoughts regarding yesterday's travel woes. What I find really interesting about the flat tire is that that same tire (front driver-side) tire went flat, the day after it was put on, while I was visiting a friend in Katrineholm on the way to visit my daughter in late October. When I got back home, I took the tire back to the guy we bought them from. He gave me crap, but gave me a new tire. He had accused me of driving on it after it was flat and I told him that it was flat when I came out to the parking lot and all I had done was back half way out of the parking spot and pull back into it, so I could change the tire. His response was "Alla säger det." ("Everyone says that.") So, this flat, since it was in the same position, was the new tire. It must have gone slowly flat while I was driving it and only I felt it after I had been on the road about 90 minutes and was accelerating so that I could pass someone. I slowed up a bit, but had to wait until there was a suitable place to pull over, several kilometers down the road. This tire was so damaged on the inside that the shop that I took it to wouldn't inflate it for fear that it would explode. Even though they can't tell me that made it go flat, I suspect that it is the stem used to inflate the tire on the actual wheel, not the tire that is the problem. What do you think?

I am not looking forward to see the tire guy on Monday. I'll make sure to take my husband with me. He's recently stopped tobacco products so I'm sure that he will not let the guy give me any more crap!
