Well the new house is not yet inhabitable, and in fact due to a few factors beyond our control we seem to have slipped backwards rather than advanced at all this last fortnight. Still, by the end of this week we will have a nice warm new bathroom and by the end of next a kitchen (the cost of which was rather like an arrow in the chest actually - THUD! OW! *bleeds*)
At this stage of the game come some pricey moments and we have added a couple of unpleasant extras to the list (sorting out dry rot as well as leaks in the roof, bumfuck-plumber-A leaving leaks all over the shop and costing a new ceiling downstairs, having to fully slab out the bathroom and replaster, possibly having to buy a new bloody boiler). It at the one time satisfying because things are getting DONE and progress is visible but also painful because it is all coming out rather sucking-chest-woundily high ticket and there is bad shit coming our way in the budget - Happy Fecking Xmas thanks government wankers.
Will we be in for Xmas? Well right now probably not but maybe. Certainly we have to be out of here by January because that is another thousand in rent which we cannot afford. Could be a bit busy this Xmas week. Have an idea for an Xmas Tree for the kids - refuse to buy a proper one because, well, that would be admitting defeat really. Will post pix if it works out.
