first week of the new year

- I'm listening to the remastered 'Love' album- it's remarkably rich! You think you know the Beatles, but hearing this album makes me appreciate them all over again.

- I saw the Nutcracker in SF with mom on NYE. The first of our seasonal ballet tickets. It was really fun! The Opera house is so huge and elegant, it's an experience in and of itself. At the end they did a big balloon drop for new years, which was fun.

- I was gifted with a number of new cds this holiday season. I've been enjoying listening to all of them. I haven't spent enough time recently really enjoying music.

- Spent a quiet NYE and holiday. It's been really nice at work this week. Everyone (myself included) seems refreshed and energized. I feel a lot better about the state of our home. I'm getting things in place, and it makes me happy.

- I have mixed feelings about MacWorld next week. On one hand it means we get to visit with drakemonger and that's a good thing. On the other, I know from past experience that going to and from work will feel like a salmon swimming upstream.

- Last night I had a long talk with my friend Phil. Damn he made me miss Seattle even more! I am all the more serious about coming to visit in the next few months.

- Tonight Al and I are going to see the Gonzo play. That looks promising- Hunter S. Thompson material = entertainment!

- Tomorrow I am spending the early part of the day with my mom. I'm getting a new pair of running shoes for giftmas, and am hoping to also head by the running bra store that tylik recommended.

- There are other sundry things we are hoping to do this weekend- but we'll see how many of them get done. Monday I am driving my parents out to the boonies for my mom's cataract surgery. Thank goodness for the ability to work remotely!

- I've managed to use my fancy smelly lotion and wear nice earrings every day! My NYE resolution is working out nicely so far.
