I am sad about Facebook. The party there has ended. People are still hanging around, but so many people have decamped to other things, that it's lost the fun. There are a few hardcore folks still there, and some of them are a delight. But then there are the ones who have disappeared, or who cut you out -- or the ones whose company is tedious. I'm going to have to write up my thoughts on the Cinderella fairy tale because every time someone disses it on Facebook -- and this happens regularly -- I lose my shit and storm around the house for a while, muttering.

Surely a long post would exorcise that demon?

I haven't cracked the code on why people post or why they stop.  Why for some the prospect of their friends reading their posts is all they need to keep going -- and why for others it induces a death chill.
